Transocean Shipping Limited (TSL) is an independent, privately owned and operated firm of stevedores, port and steamship agents and logistics providers established in Kingston in 1982.

 TSL is committed to delivering excellent service to its customers and has pursued its vision for success with proactive leadership. The company offers a wide range of transport-related services to liner shipping companies, freight forwarders, importers, exporters, dry bulk cargo operators, Charterer and shipbrokers.

 TSL is known as a provider of comprehensive and high quality maritime transport, inland trucking and logistical services. The company has extensive experience in handling a variety of vessels and efficient cargo movement throughout the island.

 TSL’s clientele includes several leading, long-standing commercial entities in Jamaica. The company has earned the loyalty and respect of discerning business people determined to maintain their relevance in the face of rapid global change.

Infrastructure:
The company’s offices are located in Newport West, the heart of the maritime district in the port of Kingston on property wholly owned by the company.

Housed in approximately 2,000 square feet of office space on the ground and mezzanine floors of the Portview Centre Building, the office in general and each employee in particular is outfitted with modern equipment, supplies and technology to ensure optimum levels of performance and to enhance the consistent delivery of high standards of service. 

Contemporary hardware is used in conjunction with a variety of over-the-counter and customized software to maximize output capabilities and facilitate effective local and international communication via Local Area and Wide Area networks. In addition to real time internet communication, contact with our offices is facilitated by a network of land based and cellular telephone lines, several dedicated fax lines as well as telex facilities.

Opening /Operating Hours

We observe standard opening and operating hours, (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), for the majority of our Administrative and Accounting functions. Operations and Information Technology proceed on a 24-hour/on-call basis in an effort to facilitate the delivery of service to our international clientele, principals and vessels.

The members of the Sales Department make themselves available to our customers and principals on an unconditional basis, relationship marketing being the primary aspect of the corporate communication culture to which we are committed.

Commercially, we observe all national/public holidays and notice is given in advance of any office closure or adjustment in our opening hours as far as possible in advance of the occasion. Vessel operations and husbandry are conducted on an “as necessary” basis in keeping with the policies and availability of the wharf and berthing facilities. Emergency contact information is provided for the directors and all managers as well as members of the Operations Department.

Supply Chain management and Logistics Services
Anticipating that widespread globalization would result in a transformation in trade patterns and communication profiles, the company has diversified by developing subsidiaries to facilitate the promotion of logistics services and supply chain management. Staying viable has meant also anticipating the needs of customers in order to exceed their expectations. This is achieved by making a positive impact on our customer’s operations by ourselves operating consistently at maximum levels of efficiency.  Inspired by a desire to transform valued customers into “raving fans”, we take a pro-active WIN/WIN attitude to providing transport solutions. TSL has embraced the concept of supply chain management, strategically enabling itself to play a part at every stage of cargo logistics putting to good use years of experience and a desire to be unsurpassed in its ability to perform. Our affiliates / partners in this mission are transport Logistics Limited and Marine Haulage Services Limited.

Transport Logistics Limited  (TLL)
TLL provides exclusive agency and logistics services for a select number of principals and has an affiliation to the Customs Brokers Association of Jamaica through an in house customs broker.

Marine Haulage Services Limited   (MHS)
MHS is responsible for the land-based aspect of our transport services providing competitive and efficient haulage of containerized cargo island wide. The company owns and operates a fleet of tractor heads and maintains contracts with a number of private vehicle operators to supplement service delivery. The equipment inventory also includes a Hammar Lift side-loader adding a significant degree of flexibility to the services offered by MHS.
